Classic Belarusian Pancakes by Mariya
Ingredients:
5 pieces of Potatoes
1/2 pieces of Onion
1 piece of Chicken egg 2 tablespoons of Wheat flour
Ground black pepper to taste
Salt to taste
Vegetable oil to taste
Sour Cream to taste
1. Raw potatoes must be peeled, washed thoroughly and grated on a fine grater.
You can also use a blender to grind potatoes or twist them through a meat grinder.
Similarly, chop the onions and add them to the potatoes. A raw egg is added to the
onion-potato mixture for bunching, as well as spices to taste (mainly black pepper and salt) and flour.
The pancake dough is thoroughly kneaded until smooth.
2. A frying pan with hot oil is already waiting for potato pancakes, so the frying process begins from this moment.
The dough for pancakes should be carefully, with the help of a tablespoon, laid out in a pan in the form of pancakes.
The size of the potato pancakes depends on the preferences of the hostess. They can be large, then it will be possible
to twist them in the future with a variety of fillings, transforming ordinary pancakes into stuffed yummy.
Potato pancakes can be very small, then it will be convenient to serve them on small plates, moreover, kids will surely like them.
3. Pancakes are fried over medium heat on both sides until a beautiful golden brown crust appears, after which the pan is
covered with a lid, and the pancakes are kept for about three minutes over low heat.
4. Serve with sour cream.
